Dan Ariely talks about how our decisions may not just be based on what we actually believe.
Dan starts off by showing optical illusions to the audience and showing how it tricks us into thinking something that is not true. He then relates this to real life and decisions we make daily. He explains how most of the time the decisions we make actually are based on how the questions is asked. One example he uses is about organ donating. In some countries the question was asked as "check this if you would like to be an organ donor" and in the other countries they said "check this if you would not like to be an organ donor." The countries that had the "would not" were the countries that had the most people willing to donate their organs. He uses this to show that a lot of the time we aren't in control of our decisions.
I agree with Dan Ariely completely. I think he makes a really great point in this presentation. I think we are often swayed to make a decision based on how the question is asked. I really like how he uses optical illusions and relates them back to decision making. He really makes a clear valid point.
I recommend this video to everyone.m
